'Clinic-itis'
I think I have been infected with a very severe case of 'clinic-itis'. That's a condition you get when you sit in the medical clinic the whole day, day in and day out.
I was running the geriatric clinic this morning (total 54 patients) and left it at about 1.45 pm (there were 3 more patients waiting to be seen) and made my way to the cardiac clinic. At the entrance I was waylaid by drug reps from Novartis. A new guy (who is the manager..spots a right earring, very metrosexual) wanted to interview me on how to improve their services. I gave some statements (I can't remember what). Next I was held up by the Pfizer team, who informed me that the material I needed for my thesis will be arriving next week (whoopie!); and finally the other Pfizer team (in charge of antibiotics) waylaid me and gave me the update on their antibiotic and also a box of salmon sushi from Sushi King. Finally I broke free...
Nearly choked on wasabi sauce when I gobbled down the raw fish and started the clinic. The wasabi sure cleared up my sinuses!
The clinic is still running (total 135 patients). But I left because there are no more subjects to be recruited (ie: no more male patients).
Total tally today: 435 patients. Another 65 more to go! Praise the Lord!
I want to go for a swim now (miraculously no rain today!). It will be my first swim in almost 2 months. Mum made 'tenggiri' fish stuffed with chilli for dinner. My parents are here to see my new niece (btw, I stay with my brother and commute back to my hometown to see my family only on weekends). So, I am really looking forward to dinner! Yummy!

its so remarkable to me the shift from finding what is causing the problems to how can i medicate the problem and not deal with the source ... i am sorry that the sad state of the american medical system, e.g., pfizer & cos., have been exported to malaysia ......
what a sad state our healing industry is in currently.
you are doing great work with all those patients ... glad the fan didn't get you ... and your daughter is a budding math genius ... i too was a math quiz!
peace & harmony,
elaine
