Post-cardiac clinic
The clinic is over, the headache is almost gone (thanks to an ergotamine tablet and plenty of coffee) but the tiredness has increased! I feel like I am about to fall sick. Sigh!
I only managed to recruit 15 patients into my thesis study today. That makes a grand total of 238. Slowly but surely I am inching towards 300.
I would have recruited more had I not been called (summoned is the word) to rush up to the ward to manage a young girl who was admitted early this morning and was in respiratory distress. My poor medical officer, who is rather inexperienced, was having a tough time dealing with the patient. The problem was settled (more or less) after an hour. I think if I didn't have this emergency to deal with, I would have managed to touch the target of 20 patients today. Still, I am not fretting. A life is more important than a study.
Part time work starts at 5 today. It's ironic that I still have to do part time work to make ends meet, even after being a doctor for close to a decade?
Basically I feel very tired, I really don't feel too good. I hope it pours, at least there won't be so many patients in the part time clinic. :-)
