A pleasant surprise
Got a call from a pharmaceutical rep yesterday. It was wholly unexpected. She asked if I would like to go to Langkawi Island in June for a CV Forum (CV: Cardiovascular). After a few seconds of mulling it over (so as not to appear too eager or desperate), I said yes. :-)
Tha last time I went to the island was in September last year; also for another forum (I don't remember what forum!!). I stayed in the Andaman Resort then, an ultra nice (and terribly expensive) place. My only regret was I did not have much time to explore the island famous for its many fables. This time round perhaps I might have time to see a little more.
Looks like I will be travelling quite a bit. Next week I will be flying to Redang for the MEMS meeting. In April, I will be visiting Beijing (my first trip overseas since coming back from India). Looking forward to climb the Great Wall.
There are some places that I would like to visit, both locally and abroad. I would love to go to Kota Kinabalu and climb the mountain there. Actually therewill be a weekend conference there next month but it clashes with my Beijing trip. I would also like to visit Tioman or even Sipadan Island some day.
On my wish lists for destinations abroad would be places like New Zealand (I want to see the hobbits..heh heh... just kidding), the US of A (just so I can see the Giant Sequioa trees and the Grand Canyon), Paris, Egypt, Istanbul, Jordan and Israel (but probably not safe). You can see I am not really orientally inclined. The Beijing trip is an anomaly. It's sponsored by the company I work for. Never refuse a free offer. Heh heh.
Long day ahead. Cardio clinic today. I hope to get another 20 patients today. Hopefully I can reach a tally of 270 patients for my thesis by day end. Part time work after that till 11 pm! Better go fortify myself with a heavy breakfast now. Thinking about the holidays makes me lose a little momentum to start work!!
