At the Foot of the Great Wall

At the foot of the Great Wall at Badaling there is a huge complex consisting of various government buildings, a library and a temple. We ventured into the area since there was almost an hour to spare before the bus departed.

No need to go to Xian to see the Terracota Warriors. There were a few of them right at the Great Wall. However I am not sure if they were the real thing or mere replicas.

Poems on the wall. I wish I knew how to read them

The distant mountains make a very impressive sight indeed. One could study here in peace I suppose. All who sit for their Fellowship or Masters exam should study here! :-P

What a shame about the digital camera letting you down. At such a crucial moment. Aaargh I can almost feel your anguish. My streamyx system is still misbehaving. Unstable line although I've yet to prove this to them. Nice nice nice pics:)

    Hi Edina,
Ya, lesson learnt! I bought spare battery for my camera in Beijing for a song. Alas, it was too little too late. I doubt I will ever go back to Beijing again.
