Work's done

Clinic was chaotic today. Loads of angry people who complained that they are seen late! Yup! Familiar old territory.

I felt a stab of pain in my heart as I ushered out a really nice elderly chinese gentleman just now.
It was a case of chicken talking to a duck. He is Teo Chew and I can't speak Teo Chew at all. He says he knows Hokkien..and well, I don't. Anyway, we kinda like fumbled and tumbled through it all and he was ok. He was also ok going through the questionnaire I gave him regarding his sexual performance status (for my thesis....in case any new readers think that I am a pervert).

As he walked out of my room, he turned and with a large grin, visibly lighting up his red sun-soaked face, he said....."I live far from here, by the beach." Awwwww! That's when the stab of pain came. All of a sudden, I have this urge to just dump everything, catch the earliest flight and go back to Redang! I so miss the place!!!!! Sob! Sob! I knew there had to be a reason for his healthy looking reddish face despite the fact he has had 4 bypass surgeries done! Initially I thought it was maybe steroids or something. Now I know, it's just vitamin D rich skin from basking in the sun! Sigh!

Perhaps it's still not too late to change career.....
